Sokuon
Sokuon is a pause (no sound) between two syllables.
Sokuon is indicated by っ (small tsu). But you don't pronounce it.
In Rōmaji, Sokuon is indicated by an extra consonant letter of the following syllable.
How to Read (Example: おっと)
- Right after the sound お, your mouth should be ready for the next sound と.
- Hold your breath for one letter long.
- Then pronounce the sound と.
